In the Hoop Baby Dress
The pattern for this almost all "in the hoop" little baby dress features a delicate lacy front with "pin tucks" and lace edged sleeves. You choose whether you want to make your own lace or use purchased lace to adorn it. The bodice is fully lined and the buttonholes are stitched by the embroidery machine. Even the placement for the buttons and the gathering stitches at the top of the sleeves are included in the embroidery design. There many options included in the fully-illustrated PDF instructions (Adobe 5.0 or higher is required). Although this is an easy alternative to a traditional paper pattern, a basic knowledge of sewing terms and garment construction is helpful. There is a small amount of machine and hand sewing involved but everything is clearly marked to make it easy. Pattern is available in 2 hoop sizes (both patterns make the same size dress which is approximately 0-3 months). Click here to see how cute this looks on a real baby.
Shown above is dress made extra long and stitched on a white-on white fabric. This will make a sweet Christening dress.
Pictures above show some of the details of the dress. Also included is a design that makes almost 1 running yard of lace hem trim in one hooping.

Inspiration for this baby dress pattern came from the
beautiful Blessing Gown
which was designed by Brandy Jensen (shown on our Projects Page).
